Things are shaping up for a couple of evening get-togethers at the
Association of Moving Image Archivists Conference in Savannah, next
week.
Steve Nease from Library of Congress NAVCC sends regrets that he will
be in the middle of transitioning the NAVCC's large digital archive
from the testing to on-line. He expects to be at NAB in April '09.
Former RCA Quad design and Technicolor engineer Pat Shevlin, Colorist
Bob Campbell, myself and some other folks are getting together for
dinner on Tuesday night, time, date and place to be decided.
Likely the same group for dinner Wednesday plus others arriving
Wednesday, like DuArt's CE Maurice Schecter, who is bringing a Quad
deck for the DuArt booth at the Vendor Cafe.
Gary Adams from daVinci just RSVP'd. Seems he worked for RCA on Quad.
There's also an informal small format videotape special interest
group that's meeting on Friday afternoon or evening for drinks.

I have a suite with table space for six and sofa if folks want to
have a meeting about preserving Quad technology and knowledge of how
to use and maintain it.
If you're within a reasonable distance of Savannah, please consider
joining us for some food and good conversation.
