[QuadList] AVR-4 Not Missing

This comes up every now and then in the group.  I was once told by an  AMPEX 
person that the VPR-80 was originally to be the VPR-4.  Because it  did not 
come to market in the right sequence, they did not use the  nomenclature.  Can 
anyone confirm this?
