Hi Ted, thanks for the welcome to the group and Happy New Year to all.
It's been fun reading all of the stories and information from those with
experience using quad. I have no direct experience with quad. It was
one of those things I read about in college textbooks but never saw in
person. I used Betacam, SVHS and an occasional 1 inch type C during my
years in news editing and master control. These days I work for a video
on demand company and most of our playback is server based.

Recently, I attended Park Seward's open house where he demonstrated his
immaculate VR-1200. It was a real pleasure to see the machine working
so well, I'm sure I won't see another like that anytime soon.

I would like to note, even though its not relevant to quad, the media's
story on the passing of pre-recorded VHS. Apparently the last large
scale distributor of pre-recorded VHS has made its last shipment to
dollar stores and other budget retailers. The story was on CNN today,
and I found this from the L.A. times:

Happy New Year to all, as the Earth begins another circuit of the Sun.

We hope the intervening days show improvement in lives, health,
finances and better relations between people, whether family or
friends, clients, employers, employees, or countries.

And we welcome new members

Alan Rosenfeld
Chuck Reti
John Schilberg

who have joined in the last couple of days, along with

Dennis Degan and Chris Watson who joined in the last couple of weeks.

If you haven't already done so, feel free to post a short blurb about
yourself and your Quad experiences.

Pictures and stories are also welcome.

You can attach photos, PDFs, text, .rtf (Rich Text) and .html files to
your e-mails. If they exceed 1 MB, they're temporarily held and I'll
get an e-mail to check the message.

Hope everyone is enjoying themselves... perhaps watching television.
If you're working today, hope it's not a zoo and that it's with good
people.

Cheers! <Raises Quad Take Up Reel>

Ted
