The cassette formats didn't do an RF output from the demod.

The 7-pin Dub output on the Umatic was baseband monochrome video and  
the "Y-688" hetrodyne color under signal, made available in order to  
save a cycle of recombining to composite and taking it apart again  
during the record process.

If I recall correctly, the CTDM spigot on Betacam/SP had Baseband  
video and the compressed time division multiplex(ed) color signals run  
out so that another conversion cycle was avoided.

Someone more familiar with Betacam/SP can advise whether the internal  
TBC did anything to the CTDM output.  No Betacam manual handy here at  
the house.
