I have a batch of quad large tapes in green hard cases that have
religious material ... use them as reels I suppose and re-record over or scrap
the tape.. although I was told it was recently read and good.

we trade for unique things for the museum here (_www.smecc.org_
(http://www.smecc.org) ) or?

Thanks,

Ed Sharpe, Archivist for SMECC

See the Museum's Web Site at _www.smecc.org_ (http://www.smecc.org/)

We are always looking for items to add to the museum's display and ref.
library - please advise if you have anything we can use.

If you're looking for programs on Quad, here's what may be two reels of
the same "1968 NY State Beauty Pageant," likely broadcast on WABC-TV, NYC.
Nothing easily found on the web about an event with that specific name,
taken from one of the tape labels.

This might be the "Miss New York" pageant, won by Patricia Burmeister who
became a semi-finalist in the Miss America pageant in 1969.

If this IS the '68 Miss NY pageant, you may see Susan Lucci, who made the
finals... but according to a bio on TCM.com, withdrew to complete college
exams and went on to ABC network television in 1970 as Erica Kane on "All My
Children."

They look like 14"/90 minute reels.

Seller says they came from an estate sale. Price is up there, but there's
a Make Offer button.

This reel box has the name "TOM WARD" and a NYC address. Reel is marked
w/ABC Low Band Color sticker:

If one of you picks these up, let the group know what was on the tapes.

Hope you're having a good Saturday, whether outdoors doing something or in
the back room working on Quad machines.
