Now you took me back!  I saw the original!  They came through Las Vegas
and set up at Channel 13.  They played a tape about a submarine crew
with Cliff Robertson as the star (I can't remember the title, but it
will bug me so much I'll go to IMDB and look it up as soon as I get off
here!) and we were so blown away that the program looked "live" since
all we had to compare to were kinescopes.  Also, in those days very few
got to go to the "show" so we had not seen the machine only read about
it.  Ironically, just a few years down the road I was taking care of a
VR-1000 and it already was considered "old" as the 1200 and 2k were out.
At that station we just skipped the 1100!
