I can personally tell you that ABS-CBN has come a LONG way since 1968. I 
was in their facility (even on the air-picture below) in June of 2008. It's a 
beautiful facility now. And had quite a history especially during the EDSA 
revolution in 1985.

The story of ABC having to construct their own multiple-hop microwave setup 
to the U.S. border (Laredo or Brownsville?) for the 68 Olympics I always 
found fascinating. Any stores you have about that event I'd like to hear. One 
reason ABC's Ambassador Hotel coverage of the RFK assignation was in black 
and white (as was almost all of their California Primary remotes in June of 
68 when the other networks had color gear at that hotel) I heard was that all 
of ABC's color gear was in Mexico City. True story?
