Job Title:           Video Operations Engineer / Technician
Employment:    Full time
Location:           Cranberry Twp, PA just north of Pittsburgh

Permanent position – Immediate opening
Quad, specialty format videotape transfer to digital video file,  
maintenance operator engineer with documentable experience preparing  
and transferring vintage & modern format videotapes.

Job Duty Summary:
Work under the supervision and direction of the Director of Technology
Organized, self-starter with good communication skills
In-depth knowledge of digital video capturing applications such as  
Digital-Rapids, Bluefish, AJA, Black Magic, MacPro, MatroxMXO2, Final  
Cut Pro, and Avid
Must be familiar with video codec and wrappers such as avi, mov H.264,  
MPEG2, MPEG4 JP2000 and many more.  IT skills are a plus.
Studio video equipment installation experience required
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of vintage to present  
video VTR technology machines
2” Quad & Legacy Format(s) maintenance experience is preferred
Ability to manually adjust video playback equipment to obtain the best  
playback results from variety of vintage tape formats
Troubleshooting capability, circuit board level repair skills
Assist operations with transferring analog/digital tape assets to  
digital video files along with entering technical transfer information  
into our MediaKeeper metadata database
Telecine maintenance / operation experience is a plus
Main equipment to be used / maintained includes but is not limited to:
Ampex AVR-2, VR-2000 Quads
Sony CV series skip field and AV series EIAJ recorders for playback,  
with Sony BVH-2000/BVH-2500 1" Type C, Digibeta, DVCPro, DVCAM, 3/4"  
D2, and VHS playback.
Transfers are to:
Files using PC's with Digital Rapids, BlueFish, MacPro with MatroxMXO2  
Rack and Final Cut Pro.
Digital Betacam, DVCPro, DVCAM, DVD-R

Our facility has a mix of analog and SDI equipment with some AES/EBU  
audio.
IT department manages PC/Mac maintenance, coding / transcoding and  
storage issues.
Salary: Commensurate with experience
