As many of you know by now I have been writing a book called "Timeline" since 2006

It is a comprehensive look at electronic editing's history from 1956-2010
gleaned from interviews with many of the main players

I am in the text edit phase of the project which runs to 600 pages. 
Apart from the obvious differences between the U.S and Europe in spelling terms 
like color and colour, or edit suite versus edit bay

I was wondering what we as a group thought about:

Off-line versus Offline, Post-production vs. Postproduction?

It may seem obvious but the various reference points like company product literature, 
newspaper and magazine reports from the era and general interviews are all at odds
with each other.
