[QuadList] OT--50KW WWVA, Wheeling uses long-wire to temp. replace three towers blown over in windstorm

Since there are folks with AM and other big iron stuff in their  
background, thought it interesting that in this day and age, a long- 
wire AM antenna system is being put to use as a temporary antenna at  
WWVA, 1170, Wheeling, WV.

While the application requests use of 12.5KW non-directional day and  
night, the FCC Media Bureau says it can run 50KW day and 12.5KW night

The STA was granted quickly and expires in Feb., 2011.	

Perhaps there's some AM DXing worth attempting?

Definitely an OT post, unless one finds a station temporarily using an  
TCR-100 or ACR-25 to sub for a downed server system. We'd really like  
to see video and pix of that!
