[QuadList] What is this?

There's an Ampex item on eBay that I'm curious about.  I got one of these 
some years ago, and have no idea what it is for.

You can see that the meter is just like what we are used to seeing on 
Amtec/Colortec/Intersync, so that part matches the quads of that era, but 
the internal circuitry looks newer as I recall....haven't looked at it in a 
while.

Anyone know what this is?
