Subj: [AMPEX] A sad witness


I just saw an old AMPEX quad deck get sent to be  recycled.  I climbed over 
a 
pile of other salvageable equipment to  take a look before they hitched the 
trailer.  Unfortunately, somebody  else already took the head drum.  All I 
got off of it was a 14" empty  reel.  It's for grabs if anybody wants it.

I also wanted to grab  some film chains.  I nabbed the prisms off one, and 
the old RCA logos  off two others.  At least I didn't leave empty handed in 
my little  white act of vandalism.
