Is it hard to believe that the IBM Selectric typewriter turned 50, on  
July 27th?

machine.

The style seems quite pleasing, even today.

Seems that it took about as long for IBM to develop it (seven years)  
as it did for Ampex to perfect Quad.

And the value ($395 in 1961) seems to have held up.  I spotted quite a  
few for $125 on ebay and elsewhere.

How many QuadList folks typed tape labels, inventory sheets, Maint.  
reports, program or transmitter logs on one of these?
