if a large file  use a file chopper program that   leaves  extra start and 
end  pats also there is an overlap....
 
for  dv tape  file space  is   something like  14 gig  so chop chop chop
 
but... the footage is saved... and the really great thing...
 
regular playback devices  will play it! that was  the wonderful  thing!
