In a roundabout way (third hand) we hear that the shaking was enough  
to knock things off shelves in one LoC Culpeper staffer's area. Hope  
nothing more than that happened elsewhere in the building.

There was enough movement in the town of Culpeper to cause one  
building to collapse and three to be condemned. One person was  
hospitalized.

A state of emergency was declared by the mayor and various public  
buildings have been closed for inspections. That includes schools and  
the local county jail.  Power was cut to 100 customers, including 80  
businesses, according to the Charlottseville NBC affiliate, WVIR-TV.

Charlottesville's TV stations are the closest to the epicenter of the  
quake.
