[QuadList] VR2000 Question

Hello Lee,

It could be the ready relay in the transport control chassis, or possibly the time-delay circuit.

That is my first impression.

I may have a spare transport control and panel schemetic.

I am sure there are several spare transport control chassis here if you find you need a part.

Subject: [QuadList] VR2000 Question

Got one for the guys who have worked on a VR2000.

Has anybody ever seen on a 2000 were if you play a tape all the way to the end, the 2000's head and capstan motor won't shut off?

IF I start the machine cold, I can thread a tape and hit play and stop and all works fine.
After about 10 minutes, the head motor and capstan won't turn off short of killing the main switch.

I have the READY switch taped off, so it's not that.

If I turn on the ready switch, the head goes slightly faster so something is leaking.

Was wondering if it could be one of the relays behind the control panel hanging on, but don't have the schematics for that circuit.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Lee
