 If you REALLY do want it to evaporate faster for some reason, then just substitute Toluene ( which is called Toluol in the hardware stores ), which is mono-methyl-benzene, for the Xylene, which is di-methyl-benzene.  Every time you unplug a hydrogen atom from a benzene ring and substitute a methyl ( CH3 ) radical, you make the molecule bigger and slow down how fast it evaporates.

       ( If you get TOO "radical", and take Toluene and remove three more hydrogen atoms and plug in nitro radicals ( NO2 ) in their place, you get Trinitrotoluene, or "TNT" which will REALLY blow the goo off the tape heads with a bang!! ;o)
