[QuadList] Interesting AVR 3 problem

The suggestion about looking at the demod out is the best one. This looks
like a recorded in problem. If it were not an AVR but a VR, perhaps there
might be a way to fix it. Take the demod out and record that on another
machine. Then manually adjust the guide as the tape plays. Has anyone done
this? Would this be a possible fix? The time base errors might be too
great to play the copy. Any thoughts by our experts?

Wonder if anybody has ever seen this.
Playing some old shows on a AVR3.
Set up looks great and plays fine.
Get about 2/3's in to the tape and I start seeing lines that look like
scallop lines only on the right side of the screen for the remainder of the
tape. (Left side is absolutely clear).
Adjusting head dig effects the lines, but does not clear them, even on a
new head .
Really strange because the first part of the transfer is excellent.
Has anybody ever seen anything similar?
Thanks
Lee
