Hello Chris,

Well, it was s stab anyway. You are the expert, not me. I only offer the following:

In the RCA New Look Price List dated March 1, 1967, the TR3B is listed at $22,500.00 I would surmise from this that the 3B was shipped from the factory, as opposed to a field upgrade.The 1966 sales catalog does not mention a 3B, just a 3. Additionally, the same price sheet lists a TR4B for $34,900. The 22D is listed as $59,500.

Thanks for the clarification on the A model assignment when the B model came out. Likewise, the TR-22HL correction. Most interesting is that the TR 50 was a TR4HB if coming from the factory. 

Do you have a TPR-10? That one is elusive. The competitor to the VR 3000.
