[QuadList] OT: How to move a VPR-80 in a sidecar cabinet without a truck or trailer--AVR 2 Next??

Thanks all who replied to my e-mail about the scope cable situation  
earlier this week.

Thought you'd like to see the result.

Here's the VPR-80, TBC 80, Barco CM-22 and Tek 1720/1730 setup prior  
to loading.



The system's working fine using Don's suggestion about presets on the  
1730 to enable viewing the RF Envelope, Control Track and AST Error  
signals.

The mechanical switches in the sidecar used for selecting Video In/Out  
and other functions are sticking,
some due to the switch button rubbing against the metal hole they fit  
through. Any "fixes" are welcome.

So... how to move this beast?  I moved the empty sidecar in the back  
of the Mountaineer to get it from storage to the workshop, but there  
was no room for the VPR-80 in the back.

Ah... but what if it became a front-seat passenger? Ratchet Straps to  
the Rescue...



For added stability in case of a high-speed stop or worse, we ratchet  
strapped the seat back to tie-downs in the rear floor...



Put the scopes into a rack frame for temporary transport... and then  
put that into the passenger footwell.



Tilted, lifted and slid the Sidecar into the back of the Mountaineer  
(by myself when anticipated help wasn't available) and then boxed up  
the cables, tools and manual set and put them along the side.



The TBC-80 and CM-22 fit nicely between the bottom of the sidecar and  
the lift gate.  With proper blanketing, a nice ride was had by all.

Which got me thinking about moving an AVR-2....

(And reminds me of the 3-camera football remote I did out of the back  
of an International Carryall in my early college days.)
