Does it happen just with this tape or will a "known good" tape exhibit  
the same issues?

Can you post a short clip or still?

If to QuadList, 1MB total message—text and pix—will go through to the  
list without getting flagged for my review and OK. (That's to keep  
folks with smaller mail boxes from getting overwhelmed)

Tony at Videomagnetics might be able to examine your worn head and  
determine what's going on.
