Since this last TCR was in Green Bay, instead of calling it "Fred", would it have made more sense to call it "Brett Favre"?
(Stayed too long past it's intended retirement date...) ;-)

David,

Do you know when it was taken off-line and when it hit the heap? :(

Since we have a large group of TCR enthusiasts and historians gathered here on this discussion, is it possible that this TCR 100 in Green Bay that I photographed in the mid 90's (and posted pix's of a few months back) was the last TCR running in the U.S.? I know that it has since been taken off line and scrapped.

The “marriage” between VTR and TCR was another cost savings benefit. Like earlier stated, both signal systems did suffer a bit, but I would guess not many people noticed. The roll-in thing was useful. I was glad to have separate electronics since our TCR was busy even when not on the air. Speaking of serial numbers. We started with a 6th generation machine which did have most of the early on issues solved and was made quite reliable. Gary

That machine was married to a TR-61 and the combination worked well. It would allow you to set up cues on the reel to reel and the let it automatically roll in spots and switch back to the reel. Very handy for syndicated shows with a lot of local roll-ins.
