Congratulations Lee!  You are the winner.  Pat McGowan was on the right track when he said there was another company with a "V".  

I think I may have seen one of these in the past, but by far, I believe the Recortec was the most popular.  Don't know how many of the Merlin units were sold either.  Although I've seen a number of Merlin refurbed machines, none that I recall had the Merlin timer installed.  One noticeable difference between the Vamco unit and their competition is the Vamco displays 10ths of seconds just as the mechanical timers did instead of frames which the other electronic timers displayed.
