Denny,
Yes, I should have been more specific in my time frame reference to when the TCRs were used for Nightly News roll-ins. I was thinking more of the John Chancellor days when the TCR could be seen rolling and locking up in a monitor behind him. This could also be seen on Saturday Night Live when the camera was in the control room for some scenes in the first few years.
The 5 second roll was the same in Burbank. The TD hits the roll button, but the actual pulse hits the TCR remote at -2.
