As long-time QuadList readers have seen, we're primarily focused on Quad
Videotape: Preserving Tape, Equipment and the Knowledge to use them, in
conjunction with the Library of Congress.

We do have some excursions into historical (or occasionally other) realms
that aren't exactly On Topic, but are in some way (sometimes loosely)
related to Quad or the Quad Era.

I neither wish to discourage or encourage such postings, in part because
there's some fun to be had, and we often learn something—perhaps something
rather significant—as these Off Topic (OT) threads run their course.

As the Secretary and Webmaster (such as that is) I am concerned with the
topic SNR, such that people don't begin to unsubscribe because the tracking
is out of adjustment and the heads are reading the guard band or worse.

We have had relatively few un-subscribes over the life of the list... and
we're more than 100 strong as of this writing. Including several new members
I haven't had a moment to welcome, yet.

On the other hand, we had three or four unsubscribes in the last 30-60
days, which Is a little unusual. I haven't asked the unsubscribers what led
to their opting out... but do hope it's not been too much OT traffic.

I'm curious to know—off-list please—what your thoughts are.

and share.

I don't imagine I'll be drowned with 100 replies, but I am interested in
hearing from the folks that don't always post. It's about the only way I
know how the QuadList is being received by people.

We'll report back about what happens.

We now return you to our irregularly scheduled programming...
