Hi George,
I believe the guy on the right is Lou Bittant, who was a trainer in that era. He also was a pilot and may have had his own plane. Somebody on this list tracked him to Placerville, Ca which is on Hy 50 and the Intersection of HY 49 in the Sierra Foothills.
There were many folks in Redwood City who were pilots and owned their own planes. Sometimes they would fly for lunch up to Vacaville, on Hy 80, to a restaurant which
had an airport namely the Nut Tree Three with airplanes were Charlie Coleman ( Amtec, AVR-1) Maurice Lemoine,(VR-3000, DTBC, Annie) and a couple more. I heard that management was concerned when the majority of the top design engineers were in the air in four small planes flying about 60 miles away for Lunch.
When I arrived it was Friday Lunch at the Copper Shield, with 3 Martini Lunches being the biggest danger.
Bye for now, love to all, Bill & Gewyn & Ginger (whoof...whoof)

Hi Ted,
I am impressed, you guys have memories like my computer.
RIGHT! The Ampex plant. And the sign is still there, or at least it was a year or so ago, if I can find the foto I will send it along. It was taken in 1975, same day as the attached foto.
Now for the tough question. Can anyone ID the Quad guys in the attached foto? I am in the middle with my 2 kids, Mike and Dave.
George Keller

Hi, George,
As Bill said, the salt ponds are a big clue. So is US 101 running
left and right... and then there's that famous landmark...
Do you know when this photo was taken... and any background on it?
(Source, reason, etc.)
Ted
