No, they were in NYC at New York Institute of Technology.

Alvy says, "Although I laid the 18-second exploding cube sequence down on the IVC, I can’t recall where Emshwiller did the final assembly, but probably on Quads in downtown Manhattan somewhere, perhaps WNET, where he knew people."
