[QuadList] Carts

Hi everyone,
I just ran across a few quad carts in a collection I'm inventorying.  I'm assuming they can be spooled off onto spot reels for transfer.  Is this correct?
 
For curiousity sake, were Ampex and RCA carts the same form factor?
