[QuadList] How to remove AVR2 pinch roller

If you really need to remove the the arm from the shaft you'll need a tool to push out the pin. I made a crude one by drilling a hole in the bottom of a C clamp and then use the clamp to push a smaller flat head screw into the hole and force the pin out through the hole you drilled in the clamp. When I put the arm back I left a small amount of the pin protruding to make it easier 'next' time though there won't be a next time. The head cover and audio stack need to come out for the G² method vs Chris Hill. If you need to change the shaft bearings you'll have no choice but to push the pin.
Good Luck

It is fairly easy. But you need a short Allen wrench. (or a ball type Allen driver.)
Remove the two Allen screws holding the pinch roller and it's bracket from the pivot arm.
Replace the roller by removing the snap ring that holds the shaft that holds the roller.
Remove the bearings etc. that are inside the roller.
Reassemble.
Now when installing the roller assembly back on the pivot arm, it is critical that the roller be absolutely parallel to the capstan. Slightly tighten the Allen screws and the pivot the arm toward the capstan. Use a light to insure the face of the roller is parallel to the shaft. Tighten the Allen screws.
Recheck the parallel again. This is a critical adjustment to prevent tape damage. During start and boost, the tape would be sent up or down in the path if this is not done. Edge damage or wrinkling might result.
