Well there is an Ampex 660 available.  Bidding starts at $9.  Shipping will be the expensive part.  Almost $140.

I worked with one in the 60's.  The x-ray department had one that was used to record the catheterizations and other procedures.  Made decent pictures.

Interesting machine but not a quad.

Brings back old memories. A small UHF station I started at in the 70's experimented with helical 7800's and a 660. Quad survived those early years, helical was just too fragile for our crew at that time. Note the oxide side is OUT on a 2" 660 reel. If I remember correctly, the tape formulation was different too. Monochrome only. Decent external time-base correction was not available at that time. No internal TBC, so these were popular in educational institutions. Barely acceptable to put them on the air (video looked OK, but you better hope grandma's TV had a good horizontal sync circuit).
