Hi Chris:

Actually, they started off with an Ampex TBC-800 and then later changed to several different models of NEC.  Not sure they ever used the TBC-2.  You can find the spec sheets on our website here:  http://www.digitrakcom.com/MERLINlit.html

  There were several upgrades to a VR-1200 and VR-1100 that Merlin offered.  One of which I believe was the use of the Ampex TBC-2.  They started off with the NEC TBC and at a later time offered the Ampex unit.  Did they do any?  I do not know.
