Your night is our day in the US... and vice versa.  

I'm used to dealing with Berlin time as part of representing MWA Nova's line of film transfer equipment here in the US, Canada and other parts of the Americas.  

Very interesting to see Quad machines made in places outside the US.  

Previous to this, we had been aware of Quads made by

Ampex
RCA
Bosch (West Germany)
Toamco (Japan, Toshiba-Ampex partnership)
Shibaden (Japan)

The Soviet machine offers a new take on things.  I'm sure the QuadList members would be interested in knowing more about the background and design.

Some starter questions:

What TV standard(s) does this machine support (SECAM? PAL? NTSC?)

Does it have a "make" and "model"  (Like Ampex VR-2000?)

Was this model the first manufactured in the USSR, or were there others before it?

Were there others after it?  (We've heard rumors of an AVR-1 copy, but nothing more.) 

How much of this machine is original Soviet design?

Are there things Soviet engineers did to make improvements to existing designs?
