That's essentially the story!
Along with feeding several other California stations, Terry Toller and I
had been doing some State Capitol reporting for what was then Koplar
Communications' KRBK-TV, 31, Sacramento's "Prime News."
Terry was on assignment for 31 and testing the camera on Dec. 2, 1984
during the second _California International Marathon_
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_International_Marathon) , which finishes at the State
Capitol.
While riding my bike downtown, I happened by where he was shooting , and
did a quick standup. (Note the biking gloves.) Terry's girlfriend at the
time took the picture. Don't remember her name.
Had I continued biking everywhere, you'd see someone who'd take up fewer
bits in a digital archive or transmission!
Noting progress, today's imaging, editing and transmission methods would
allow a reporter to use a bike as a vehicle in congested areas. "BikePak?"
Ed, Did you acquire the TK-710 package that was listed last month on ebay
out of Phoenix?

Catching up on drafts from several weeks ago...
This is an RCA TK-710, vendored from Panasonic, if I recall my history
from 1984.
To confirm, I've been looking for a picture of the Panasonic AK-710, which
an RCA tube guide indicates used the same tubes.
See red boxes around the cameras/tubes in this camera cross-reference
chart from 1982:

I'll post the full four-page document to the website when I get that
software running or replaced.
Meantime... the photo:
A freelancer in Sacramento was testing the TK-710 while deciding whether
to buy one.

It was shot during the 1984 California International Marathon at the
Capitol in Sacramento, CA. Cameraman Terry Toller with the TK-710 on the left
and me (in thinner days) on the right doing a standup is what you'd see if
I'd have been able to scan it.
