[QuadList] Quad Quiz of the Week: Mark XXM for comparison.

In regard to the Mark XXM:

As Ken was correct with Chris seconding, here is a comparison of a stock Mark XX and the Mark XXM. This head is from a client who brought by some 2" for migration yesterday afternoon. He said "Come on out to the car. I have something to show you". And there it was. It appears to be an almost virgin and rare XXM head wheel. It's beautiful!

Below is a standard Mark XX. Note that this is the normal mounting rotation on the machine with tape travel left to right. The CT head is below, to the right of the female guide. On Mark XX's, the opening and closing of the female guide is by motor driven control in the head mount.

Below is the Mark XXM. Note one difference: The CT head is on the top! Also, note additional tape path control on the guide. Perhaps Ken or Chris can confirm, but tape travel appears to be in the opposite direction on this head and associated "mirror" machine.

And there it is.
