company?
I answer:
It was an R/T creation, probably made by the two German craftsmen in
the machine shop on the first floor. I've never seen those anywhere
else, but it looked to me like the end panels were made from the top
part of other VTR end panels, modified to fit somehow. I do not know
much more about them. R/T had a bunch of dubbing VTR's on the 2nd
floor at 304 E 44th Street with that configuration. When the dubbing
center was moved to Astoria, Queens into the former Checker Cab
dealership (across the street from Kaufman/Astoria Studios) in 1985,
the overbridges were apparently removed. All the VTR's in Astoria had
no overbridges, which meant of course that some of them were 'open-
topped'.

far-right rack section of the overbridge. Seems like a good accessory
to have in/near any deck or rack of decks.
I shrug:
If you've got the space, why not use it, I say . . . . ;)

I answer as best I can:
Below the Kimwipe dispenser is a tape hold-down dispenser (for
securing reel ends) and a small box holding small takeup spot reels.
The side panels are metal, just like the side panels on the VTR's.
It looks like they took three sections of equipment rack, bolted
together side-by-side and cut them to fit at an angle, then installed
modified Ampex end panels on them to make the overbridge. Either that
or it's something available from Winstead with Ampex end panels
installed, not sure.
