Thanks for the information on replacing the pinch roller but what I need to know is how to remove the pinch roller. Something was mentioned about using a modified allen wrench.

This is the Digest of the QuadList. Celebrating four years of Quad Conversations, July 25, 2012
Please change the subject line from "Digest" and Trim your post to JUST the relevant info when replying. That prevents the entire digest from re-posting.
You can copy and paste or highlight the desired material before hitting "reply" in most e-mail clients.
That will keep the entire digest and a bunch of headers with gobblydgook from being re-sent to the list.
Your subscribe, unsubscribe and digest options are at the bottom of the digest.
Thanks.

Hi All
My friend Joe, sent me this link and message;-
"I spent New Years Day at TV Centre with my camera. I've made my pics into
a slideshow - thought you might enjoy!"
http://youtu.be/zTqWBEbBxZw=
It brought a little lump to my throat, so empty, so sad!

The most critical thing is to get the roller back on properly.
Make sure that the roller is perfectly parallel with the capstan shaft.
If not, then the tape will be pushed up or down and possibly cause edge
damage upon start up. When you put the screws back in just finger tighten them
so that you can check the alignment. Push the roller toward the shaft and
with a light behind it you can see if it is aligned. Then tighten the
screws and recheck.
Tape stock does make a difference. Fuji tape was stiffer and had more
edge damage for us.
RCA machines had a capstan that was more or less free floating and thus was
easier.
