Hi Chris:

This appears to be the original version of the manual, so later versions of the machine are not fully covered, but it should include all of the basics.  Most machines were updated with later version tension arms and reel servo boards which are covered in a separate manual.  The loose-leaf pages on the inside front cover are training documents that cover quick set-up.

They made the 3000 for a LONG time, and later machines, especially those within a couple years of the "B" version contained a number of updates.  Unfortunately, on the newer capstan servo boards, the functions of the trim-pots changed, but some shared the same numbers with their predecessors.  So adjusting VR-3 on a new board did something different from VR-3 on an older board.  If you followed the older instructions, you'd get very wrong results!
