[QuadList] JFK Fifty Years Later--An update---

Some networks used to have an analog "Round Robin" feeding the television or radio networks out from and returning to New York.

Seems our message here sorta did that to reach Harold Deppe, Sr.

Back in November, I forwarded my post to Dave Minot, the webmaster of the CBSRetirees.com website (NY Engineers) to see whether anyone remembered what CBS did on Nov. 22, 1963 and after.

Dave posted it to the website, and apparently, Harold, Sr., replied there, although he's subscribed to the QuadList:

From Harold Deppe In answer to Ted Langdell:
Yes I was at CBS that day, but not at the Grand Central studios. At that time I was assigned to maintainence at color Studio 72 and not involved with news coverage in any way. Perhaps others on the list might have been more directly involved and would care to comment.
Best regards,
Harold Deppe

TL: Studio 72 link is to 1955 SMPTE article describing the then-new facilities.

I saw the reply this morning when I checked CBSRetirees.org to see what was new.

So far, no other replies about what CBS did... although I wonder if Goodman "Goody" Freed would know. He was working in CBS NY Videotape in 1965, but may not have been around in late '63.

More if anything pops up.

Ted

(I think this would have been from the Grand Central Station facilities, since the Broadcast Center on W. 57th St. had a 1964 debut. Clarifications about what happened from where would be good.)
