A number of folks on the list work with archivists, transferring 30-59 year old Quad tapes.
An archivist's timebase could be expressed as:
"Working with the past in the present for its future™"
The thought of baking and archival tapes had me visualizing an episode of "The French Chef" (in low band black and white, of course) with Julia Child walking us through the tape-baking process.
Which would mean that the tape is at least twice-baked, because it was "baked" at the factory before it was slit and rolled up.
The episode in which she shows us that earlier recipe would be the one about "Oxide Roll-ups."
Ba dump bump.
Hope you're having an enjoyable Saturday, and staying warm wherever you are. Particularly if you're working an event... like the Superbowl.
