We have some news of a different sort this afternoon:
The Quad Videotape Group may be the recipient of the papers of a former ABC and CBS network videotape engineer with a variety of early videotape manuals, documents and design drawings.
I was contacted by the engineer's son yesterday, who was seeking a assistance.
This person was an Emmy winner and participated in the implementation of videotape at both networks in the the 1960s and 70s.
The collection as described should make interesting reading and research into what challenges the networks faced on a technical level, and internally in terms of personalities, funding and logistics.
Details about the collection and the person will be forthcoming, so please allow us some time to complete the arrangements.
