Engineer Bill Vinten, the son of William Vinten who founded the eponymous  
camera support equipment firm, passed away on Sunday 8  November.



 
 
Very sad... passing of one of the greats in the industry. We have a  MK III 
Head in the SMECC communications collection here in Arizona just by  itself 
displayed as though a fine piece of art. There is a really great photo I  
have seen out there of Bill posed with that - - we would love a hi res scan 
of  it to put next to the head. ..... We of course have some Vinten heads on 
the  peds we have cameras on but this one is so perfect condition we decided 
to  display it as just it self.... and ... what a game changer it was for 
industry!  Goodbye Bill and thanks for all you brought to the industry. Ed
