Hi Ed:
Physically looking at the back of the unit, if you have audio connections
(miniature Phoenix style connectors), then you have the audio option. The
other options you can check by looking at the menu. Since this is a Leitch
branded unit, the Noise Reduction is an option that is activated through
software. If your unit does not have it activated, then obtaining the code
is difficult. The DV option can also be checked from the menu. The network
interface works without any special software. From the 575 internal display
and menu, configure the IP address and network settings to match your
network. Then just put the IP address of the unit in your browser and it
will load the opening menu just like any other web page. A full operators
manual is available for download from the company (now Imagine
Communications) website. They also have downloads for the most recent
firmware, but you likely do not need that. Beware that there are two
different versions of the firmware, depending on the hardware version of
your 575 and loading the wrong one can cause the unit to cease operation.
Especially if you have software options enabled, I would not update the
firmware, or certainly not without a backup of the current configuration.
The 575 is a great box for interfacing analog and digital hardware and
giving you "handles" on all the usual proc amp controls as well as
adjustable delays, test signals, auto-setup routines, etc. With the audio
option, it can also track audio delay to match video delay, balance levels,
generate test tones, etc. Pretty impressive box for its day, and still
useful for many applications.
