Congratulations to pioneer Quad Videotape Group member James Snyder for being selected to Keynote the IEEE Broadcast Symposium, October 10-12 in Arlington, Virginia.

James was one of a dozen people who showed up to the original Quad Videotape Group luncheon at NAB in 2008.

At the time, was a Senior Design Engineer, Communications Engineering, Inc, Newington, VA, which had a contract with The Library of Congress to complete the work on the Library's technical facilities at the National Audiovisual Conservation Center in Culpeper Virginia.

James was later hired by the LoC as essentially the facilities chief engineer.  

A Quad collector, James donated his machines to the LoC. 

We are looking forward to seeing James at the annual Ampex OldTimer's Barbecue and Picnic, September 9 in the San Francisco Bay Area. He'll be helping the Quad Videotape Group support the barbecue. 

James has been collecting oral histories on video tape from pioneers in the broadcasting business, Including a number of Ampex pioneers.
