From michael at nullbrook.org Fri Mar 2 00:16:42 2018 From: michael at nullbrook.org (Michael Wolf) Date: Thu, 1 Mar 2018 21:16:42 -0800 Subject: Help Digitizing 1/2 Inch In SF Bay Area Message-ID: Hello all, I recently came across a box of film (which is my specialty) at a flea market in Oakland, but at the bottom of the box was a set of 1/2 inch Scotch video tape reels. According to the labels, these videos are of Buckminster Fuller (lectures?). The catalog tag on one case is 'CAT NO 361-1/2-1200-R148B 1/2 in. x 1200 ft. (12.7mm x 365m) 34-7003-0788-6'. The issue being that I have no idea how to play back this tape. I know that this isn't 2" like the list is about, but this seems to be the only place that is aware of quadruplex tape. My question is whether anyone knows an archive or museum in the SF Bay Area I could go to for viewing or digitizing this footage? Failing that, are there any reliable services for digitizing by mail? Apologies if this is the wrong place to post. I was born about twenty years after these tapes were recorded so forgive my ignorance! Thank you so much!
