<div>Yes the master tapes were complete tapes, just recorded in 'mirror' fashion. Everything was on the tape as it would be in a machine recording (they were made in conventional machines modified for everything to run backward). All the elements of the recording were contact printed onto the copy. There were no "heads" in the dubbing process, just either a magnetic or thermal 'field' that the tape and master went through oxide to oxide. </div>
