[QuadList] Time Base Correctors

I'm curious to see if anyone has used a modern 
TBC "high up" in the signal chain of an older 
quad machine. Could use of a TBC do a better job 
than AMTEC and colortec (which of course were 
early TBC's) or would the more modern TBC's barf 
when looking at the extreme errors off of a Quad 
tape. I'm not advocating improper restoration of 
an older machine, but I wonder for those who do 
a lot of transferring if this would be a viable 
solution?
