Worse was "Spray Klean" (?) used to clean tuners and controls. The shop
always smelled like that stuff and every once in a while someone would light
the sprayer. Now we all have "Old TV Engineers" disease.

Although RCA and NBC are synonymous. I can remember hosing that stuff
(Freon) around (assured that it was completely inert) and thinking, yeah,
someday we're going to find out that it is secretly killing us and
destroying the planet. Which it was.
One very hot and humid day in Toronto, the little keg of the stuff developed
a slow drip on the carpeting .... After several hours, a small stalagmite of
water slush had accumulated-- very amusing to see.
Probably also did fun things like goosing each other with squirts from
bottles of Freon TF.
Nothing like working a string of double shifts in a row and then being
douched with a stream of Freon from a plastic squirt bottle. Definite tend
to wake a fellow up in a hurry.
