[QuadList] Visual Electronics VA Quad deck

I can't help but get the feeling that the designers of this Bosch 
machine spent some quality time with a TR-22 at some point.....LOL.
Does anyone know the vintage of these?  I wonder if there are any 
surviving operating ones over there.   Certainly a rather impressive 
looking piece!
