[QuadList] Dropouts at fixed intervals

It was a bigger problem on machines with front side master erase 
heads..at least on RCAs.  The head surface would get rough with wear, 
collecting small bits of oxide in the pits.
These magnetized particles would generate magnetic scratches on the 
tape, which, on playback, look much the same as actual physical tape 
scratches.
Backside erase is a wonderful thing!
