[QuadList] eco-responsible disposal of videotapes and videocassettes

I realize the notion of "recycling" videotapes and videocassettes is absurd,
but I have quite literally a ton of old 1", 2", 3/4",, Betacam and VHS
tapes
that I need to get rid of.

Any content worth saving has been archived, and thats probably a topic
for further discussion in another thread - what format do you archive TO?

There has to be some more 'eco-responsible' thing to do with this stuff than
to just send it to the landfill!

Anybody in the group had any experience with this or got any suggestions?
